On October 14 youth coordinator Raquel Nunez and Youth organizer Caroling Macias went to a convening with fellow cohort members within the fcyo healthy communities initiative. The initiative focus’s on youth organizing around ensuring access to healthy, affordable and culturally relevant food in low-income communities like Little Village. While at the convening youth groups from around the country focused on Connecting as individuals and building within their respective communities. Groups also Got to know groups, campaigns and strategies and Understand the experience the depth and breadth of available resources. Members of the cohort also received a Training on Food Systems (esp. connection to oppression).Most important Raquel and Carolina came back inspired by other groups working on common issue across the country.
